When you think about it, water storage is amazingly symbolic. The Savior asks us to drink of the living water, but how can we if we don't know where it flows or how to reach it? Similarly, He gives us the parable of preparing and storing our oil so that we may attend the wedding, but how can we if we don't know where to find the oil, or how to store it? These are physical descriptions of spiritual realities, which we can apply back again to our temporal world.
He will provide what we need as we begin this process of diligently seeking, preparing, using and doing all that He has asked. We may need knowledge, we may need transportation, we may need money, we may need time, we may need encouragement (or all of these, and more!), but most of all we need faith: faith in our Savior and faith that He, the giver of all good things, will not ask of us more than we are capable of doing. Our obedience will be as a well of living water (literally and figuratively).

ReplyDeleteAt Costco, we can get a case (35) of 16.9 ounces of water for $3.75 which is about 10.7 cents a bottle. This is the kirkland brand, but i like to keep a case in my car, i usually have one down in my basement as well. during the heat i usually have the packet of coolaid that is for one bottle in my purse so the water that I cant drink because it is too warm is flavored and i can drink it down if I need to. this is helped me when i have had a flat tired or broke down even during the winter. this could also be help if we have to evacuate on a short notice it is enough water for a family of four to drink for two days at four bottles a day. which is roughly 9 cups of water per person per day. if we are being evacuated i think this should be enough till we get to where are we going and can get more water.
